What is allowed into the Hall of Monuments should be restricted, but what it is now is simply retarded.
My vote would be for allowing any gold weapons, shields, & foci with a requirement of 9 or less and maximum stats (probably exclude the Bonus Mission equipment).
As for the armor display, they should allow mixed sets, provided at least half the set (2/4 or 3/5) is elite armor.
Also, although I am quite sure it will never be placed in the game, I vote for being able to 'spawn' customized duplicates of armor & weapons placed in the Hall - allowing for much greater personal storage for those who hoard armor sets & weapons, and a way to provide armor for multiple builds for those who do not farm endlessly. Equipment created this way should not be salvageable. Undecided on if this should spawn 'clean' equipment, or with the modifiers you placed it into the hall with - if second option, you should be able to change those out.

If this were a suggestion thread, I'd put in the "HoM should be account based" phrase. Seeing my best 15k armors from all my chars in one area would be nifty.
Why only req9 and lower?

As an added restriction on the rarity & value of the equipment in there - selected 9 because that is what the Destroyer weapons are, and the minimum requirement for some items.
Allowing higher requirements I feel would be to broad, making it to easy to fill. Although, this will make it to easy to fill anyways for those who don't mind having crap skins displayed...

Given that mini-pets can be free and heroes only need 10 minutes in a challenge mission (though that does depend on the mission), I'm really not sure what the point in limiting weapons at all is. Even a BMP weapon can take longer to earn than a hero armour piece and why on earth should it take long anyway?
At the very least they should remove all the little stands (I assume that's what they are) and let the monument be considered full when it has one weapon in it. Who the hell wants a whole set of destroyer turds, on one toon?
My mood towards the HoM has actually softened quite a bit since release, but this one section still completely misfires. I doubt I'll ever put anything in it, unless it changes (and just allowing Torment weapons would *not* be enough).

I think they should just scrap the whole HoM link to GW2. Then they can let people add what ever they want. And it would stop all these I want to take everything I own to a new game because I am to lazy to ork for it threads.

This is what i wrote in another thread :
About Torment weapons,
Yes, the exploits hurt their value, but they're still much more expensive (and IMO, prettier) than the Destroyer weapons.
Much more "high-end" if you ask me, only a few skins are more expensive, at least for now.
If they dont count, what should?

thus the conclusion that eye was hurried out the door.....armor sets NOT completed, HoM not done correctly. And to think we paid for this expansion <sigh> (and the dervish, paragon, rit and mesmer are also missing gloves for the dwarven set as well).
and yes I think they should 'rethink' the weapons in the HoM.

lolwut?
The +30/-2 isn't a bad mod. And I didn't put it over every element, I just put what is needed to make my point.
If I put what you need for PvP then I would have done so.

The BMP weapons are (gonna be) too easy to get...
If anything, let us add each "Set" as one Monument.
Meaning, you have to get every single Undead Weapon to add the "Undead Weapons Monument", so the BMP can give you up to 4 monuments.

Some miss information here....
You can not put more than one of any Destroyer weapon/offhand in the HoM.
You are permited the following Destroyer items in the HoM display.
1. Sword
2. Axe
3. Hammer
4. Shield
5. Spear
6. Scythe
7. Daggers
8. Staff
9. Wand
10. Offhand
11. Bow
Only one of each will fit in the 11 slots.

Malice,- you're like the Governator before he got boring!
Seriously - why do you guys keep moaning about this?
- Do you honestly think you'll care once GWII comes out?
- How do you suppose they should "rate" different kinds of weapons in terms of benefits for GWII?
- Should we be able to add whichever weapons we liked?
(500 gold ea - full benefit in GWII)
- Should they say: "ok now: these can be added - these can't"
(You'd be in here in 5 min. moaning about where they drew that line! - no matter what!)
Give it a rest, suffer in silence and wait for GWII!

simple the 11 items, you want to put and show there
then i would put in there stuff, like certain zodiac/celestial items, or a voltaic spear, an icy dragon saword and all those special looking stuff...
the only requirement should be, that these items should need to be 2perfect", before they can be added....
means max damage/defense...req of at least 9, and perfect mods/insignia or beign old school perfect
anfd then maybe increase this monument from 11 items to say 20 items ^^
that would be a good change
|
Eventual fail.Btw you should have said, req of at most 9.. r13's are leet now too:P But the idea is that the HoM is going to have some sort of ramifications in GW2... So deversifying it will render it useless... I say shh and wait. When the time comes more will be revieled about it and everyone will be satisfied or they will quit. As have we always been like.

No more easy than going to kamadan dist 1 and spamming "WTB Destroyer Weaps".
Everybody who's QQing about don't devalue this or don't devalue that is going to have a rude awakening in GW2 when half the players are walking around with whatever benefits and GWAMM titles. It's a long time until GW2 release, and even a slow-poke like me will make that title before then.
Bottom line. HoM should be about your character and what you like, not trying to show off. So, if it's important to your chartacter, it should be in their HoM!

I cant help but think any old weapon is sufficient to be placed there...not by how expensive it is...but what you accomplished with it...surely a weapon that smote down a god (aka abaddon) is more worthy than a destroyer weapon crafted by some random armorer

I think it's the least they could do after many of us spent like $30+ just to qualify for what was supposed to be a "special, limited edition" item.
I'd like to put my Urgoz's Longbow in there. They should allow all weapons in there, no limit on profession-specifics either (like more than one bow, hammer, etc.)

Keep in mind with the addition of Heros you do have something to do with just about any weapon you place in your HoM.
